help support el cariso village recover from the airport fire

On Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, the sleepy community of El Cariso Village in the Cleveland National Forest was changed forever. A neighborhood filled with family, friends, and animals was decimated by the Airport Fire. 22 out of the 38 homes in the community did not survive, while others are left with extensive damage.

My name is Ashley Keene (sister to a community member who lost their home). I have created this page to help the community of El Cariso Village get back on its feet.

Kids have to go back to school. Adults have to go back to work. Things have to go back to normal but there are no homes to go home to. They are trying to navigate moving forward while not only trying to rebuild, but continue life as “normal.”

The members of this community are some of the most generous and hard-working people I know.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, is very appreciated during this difficult time.

Thank you!
